Digs into Ankles, otherwise perfect
Review of: Brooks Women’s Ghost 17 Neutral Running ShoeColor: Grey/Chateau Grey/PortabellaSize 7.5By measurement, I’m a size 7 regular/medium. Most of my exercise shoes are 7.5 regular, as is this one. The width is perfectly comfortable on me. Snug at first, but after 3 weeks of a lot of wear they feel incredible. Length is great, although just barely. The foot bed is soft but firm. Not squishy. I need a decent arch support and these are nice and high and sturdy. The color (see above) is gorgeous and will coordinate with anything. The heel stays put without sliding. The heel also has the new heel style that makes them easy to slide your feet into, and you don’t feel it at all when you point your toe. Great cushioning in the soles. I feel stable and straight with my slight overpronation. I immediately went on vacation when these shoes arrived, so I took a chance. I walked about 10,000 steps a day for 8 days! Including rushing through airports. These shoes felt amazing the entire time. Only took a couple of days to stretch just perfectly to my feet.At first they were digging into my ankles 🙁 It’s towards the front of the inner ankle on both shoes/feet. After an hour in them I had dents in the skin. It’s right at the point where the top shoe lace hole is. It’s a hard piece with no cushion. The Ghost 14 was not like this. However, I took those points and bent them backwards quite aggressively several times in the first day. I also loosened the laces all the way down the shoe, then tied them just a bit looser than I normally would. I wore them around the house for an entire day like this and they felt GREAT. Then I took them on my trip and had no issues. So I was able to completely solve that issue. I’ve seen others complain of the same thing. I have skinny ankles, a bit bony you might say. So it’s not an issue of my size. So although I do think the manufacturer should try to fix the issue, I was able to fix it myself.It’s a great shoe and I highly recommend.

Great shoes
I did not want to buy these due to the price even though I know this is the going rate for good shoes. However, I am ecstatic that I did. They are super comfortable right out of the box. Went for a jog in them, no problem whatsoever. There is enough room in the toe box and my foot is supported. The shape is not terribly attractive but I bought the prettiest design I could. I wear an 11 & Amazon suggested an 11.5. I didn’t want to but it “warned me” this was the best size based on reviews and returns. Well, it was right. An 11 would have been too short in the toe box. Darned AI, even though it helped. Love these!

Great Shoe!
These shoes are amazing! Comfortable, provide great support, and come in very stylish colors. I actually wore them into a shoe store and the clerk commented immediately on my shoes. They carried Brooks but did not have the new Ghost or color selection. I will be buying another pair. A great walking shoe.

Great shoe for walking and standing long hours
Love these shoes! Had ankle fusion 4 years back and Brooks shoes were recommend to me by surgeon. I have not looked back. This is my 4th pair and absolutely love them. Very comfortable for long standing and walking. Cushion and arch is perfect. Also breathable material while keeping your feet stable. Very durable and will last a long time. I do go up half size from my true to size but they also sell them in wide which may help as well.

Best for COMFORT for your FEET!!!!
The most comfortable tennis shoe I’ve ever owned. Especially since i now have neuropathy. It’s hard to wear any kind of shoe. Highly recommend for foot comfort and it comes in narrow which is hard to find. Beautiful assortment of colors!!!

Great, but wide width is not AFO friendly
These are good but not worth $150- I got wide width for my AFO (ankle-foot orthotic) as their website said wide width works with orthotics. These are the same size as my regular tennis shoes from other brands and way narrower than my husband’s regular width brooks. Wide is NOT orthotic friendly- get extra wide or a different brand. They also seem to run small overall. I order a size up to accommodate my AFO, and these JUST with no AFO added. The heel is also crazy hard and squeezes and really hurts.

Ordered these to the UK and they are fantastic! Especially if you have wider feet! Super comfortable, cushioned and feel well structured. Very lovely colour and stylish design. Very very happy and will likely buy in more colours!
