Finally found the perfect scale!
I’ve used several big-name scales over the years, like Withings, Fitbit, and Garmin. They were fine for weigh-ins but this Body Pod is phenomenal. Most smart scales display your weight and a body fat estimate, then sync it to an app and that’s it. Hume takes it to another level. The body composition data is way more detailed and accurate. It tells me visceral fat, metabolic age, lean mass, and hydration levels. The best part is it’s laid out in a way that makes sense in the Hume app, giving me personalized insights, habit nudges, and goal tracking that actually feels tailored to me.The best way I can explain it is that other smart scales feel like gadgets – they give you numbers and hope you know what to do with them. The Hume system feels like a wellness coach in your back pocket, keeping you focused on progress not just the number on the scale.Would definitely recommend Hume and I’m excited to see what else they come up with.

Wasted Money
I would give it zero, but I can not. This scale has successfully measured my body 4 times out of at least 70 to 80 attempts. I have tried to restart/reconnect the scale and application several times and the scan either fails or the Hume application does not acknowledge that I am using the scale at all. Its the worst scale I have ever used as well as the most expensive. I do not recommend.

Awesome! Very Close to DXA
I give the scale five stars because it was within a couple of pounds for both lean and fat mass of a DXA scan done on the same day. Of note, I was able to use the Hume scale, DXA, and InBody in the same day. If you consider the DXA scan the gold standard, then the Hume scale was far closer than the InBody scan. (this may be an issue with the InBody I was using or the technician)The set up and linkage with the Hume application on the phone was straightforward no issuesOverall, I consider it accurate and for the money it costs a little more than two DXA scans. Except you don’t need to schedule an appointment and you can do it as often as you see fit.Combine the Hume with body measurements and pictures and you have a winning/solid method for tracking progress and achieving your goals.

Trash
Waste of money! One day my muscle massage is super high then the next day my fat mass is extremely high and I have no muscle mass at all. I’m weighing 2 pounds heavier than my other 2 smart scales plus all my numbers were completely off from my recent dexa scan.

Excellent Heath Tool for Consumers of Any Age
As a baby boomer, I’m always looking for help to take control of my health. In the Hume Health Body Pod smart scale, I found a valuable tool in my ongoing health journey. From setup to daily use, it has been refreshing straight forward and easy to use, something extremely important, especially to people my age. I love the sleek design and clear and intuitive interface that presents key data at a glance at the app.If you’re a fellow boomer looking for an important tool to help manage your health, I’m confident the Hume Body Pod is something you’ll treasure. It’s earned a comfortable place in my morning routing and I’m sure this device will do the same for many others of my generation.

apparently visceral fat is an algorithm not actual measurement

I like eating too much.
I just got it today. I am a fat pig : ) I know I weight 318 at least. Scale says I am 322 with 136 lbs body fat and lean mass of 185 lbs. I can salsa dance two hours, so even though I am 63 , this scale says my biological age is 39 years. At least now I know why I can’t climb hills easily This thing runs on bluetooth 2.4 Hz , so you might have to shut off wireless to get a connection. Some wireless interferes with bluetooth due to same frequency. Been using it and recording the percentage of body fat. I found that if I jog 4 times a day on the treadmill for 20+ minutes, this device will in fact record a small percentage body fat lost. I continue to job 4 times a day with rest between. This scale is accurate because I went to an appointment at a weight loss center and they had a professional scale that said I was 124.2 lbs of fat versus 136 lbs this scale found.

It never completed a single body scan!
The scale failed to complete any body scans.. I tried all of the troubleshooting techniques. None of them worked, and I finally returned the scale.

I think the accuracy of the scale is questionable. It has my muscle mass about 2kg higher than the InBody machine at my gym, and about 1kg lower in fat mass. Overall, this skews my body fat percentage by almost 2%. It could be that the InBody machine at my gym is inaccurate, but since that’s what I’d used in challenges, etc. I participate it, that’s my benchmark. Also, if you drink a couple glasses of water, this scale increases your muscle mass by a similar weight. The app is also a bit problematic. It doesn’t sync activity with apple health, though it should. If you search online, this is a well-known problem that has yet to be solved though Hume is aware of it. This means the app gives you a perpetually low health score, which is displayed in big numbers at the top of the home page screen. Obviously, you can ignore it, but it’s not very motivating.I’d only suggest this scale if you’re ok with a devise that is consistently inconsistent, which may be fine if only this machine is how you’re gauging your changes in body composition, and if you don’t care that you may see a poor health score if they never fix this syncing issue.
