Great Heart rate monitor
I bought this after I got my suunto ocean. So far it has been great. I can do all of my workouts (Hiit, weightlifting etc.) and cycling. The only issues I have are 1) it doesn’t seem to work while swimming laps in a pool. 2) sometimes I have to re-sync it to my phone amd watch for it to work. This was only once or twice in the past 4 months.

Does Not Function Well – Totally Inconsistent
I have a Suunto 9 and I love the watch. The heart rate band not so much. First, It appears that you have to have your phone with you for the thing to register your heart rate. If this is not the case, then the strap functions even worse than I thought. I could not get a response from Suunto when I sent them an inquiry on this issue. Second, the data is completely inconsistent. I tested it while walking when I had my phone. It registered my heart as anywhere from 95 bpm to 145 bpm. There’s no way my heart rate gets to 145 bpm while walking. I sent it back.
