My husband’s favorite shoes — hands down!
I bought these Xero Crosstraining shoes for my husband when I first started getting into barefoot running and minimalist shoes. He was curious about them and wanted to try a pair for himself. He’s been wearing them for over a year now, mainly for hiking and casual wear, and he still says every single time he puts them on that they’re “the most comfortable shoes he’s ever worn.”He has always preferred shoes with a wide toe box (even before trying minimalist styles), so his feet didn’t require much adjustment. I’ve noticed that he actually stands up straighter in these — in his other shoes with even a small heel, he tended to lean forward a bit.For hiking, he used to wear heavy boots with thick soles and a higher heel, and he never tied them properly — the laces were always loose, which never made sense to me. But with these Xero shoes, he ties them snugly and loves the way he can feel the ground beneath his feet. The thinner sole provides him with better balance and a more secure connection to the trail.What’s even more impressive is how well they’ve held up. After a full year of use, they still look great. The soles aren’t worn down at all, and there are no signs of excessive wear or tear anywhere on the shoe.He genuinely enjoys wearing these shoes, and I can tell he’s not going back to traditional hiking boots anytime soon.

My new favorite shoes!
I am in my 70s and have, in recent years, developed foot and knee pain. Visits to podiatrists only made my pain worse. Both podiatrists sold me expensive orthotics, which increased my knee pain so much that I could hardly walk. I told both podiatrists that I have no pain when I walk around barefoot, but they just brushed that off, saying that I should never go around barefoot because it will ruin my feet. When I started going barefoot more and more, and wearing bedroom slippers and flip-flops with no arch support, my pain virtually disappeared. The pain always came back, however, when I wore traditional brand-name athletic shoes. Eventually I discovered Xero barefoot shoes and ordered a pair. Each time I wore the Xero Shoes out walking I experienced less and less pain until, after about two weeks of wearing only these shoes, my foot and kneed pain completely disappeared. I now own four pairs of these shoes and plan to buy two more pairs, including their dress shoes. The wide toe box lets my toes spread out when I walk rather than be squeezed together, which feels much better. The zero-drop soles transfer much less force to my knees. The thin soles take some getting used to, especially when walking on concrete or asphalt sidewalks. Since the insoles are removable, I simply took them out, inserted flat cushion insoles, then put the original shoe insoles back in the shoes on top of the cushion insoles. This provides some cushioning but does not give any arch support or change the zero-drop feature of the shoes. I have since read that wearing traditional brand-name athletic shoes can eventually ruin one’s feet and knees because the toes are squeezed together, the higher heels throws off the body’s biomechanics, and the thick cushioning causes a person to develop weak arches. Now I only wear Xero Shoes. I realize that everyone is different, but if you have developed foot and knee pain while wearing traditional brand-name athletic shoes, you may want to give Xero shoes a try. But give them a couple of weeks to work their magic. Highly recommended!

Great, but soles wear faster than expected
Favorite shoe so far (just bought another pair), super comfortable, but do think the soles wear too fast. Got maybe 1000-1500 miles before they were blister factories, and their site does state like a 5k mile warranty so felt a little low on lifespan compared to brand marketingOtherwise pretty good, no forced arches or weird drop, almost like going barefoot. Gate is good when walkingFits well, maybe a touch cramped in toes. And pretty decent look for a barefoot shoe

So far so good, main usage as house shoes.
First day review, I like the shoes. The inserts made my feet feel a little cramped(height wise) but thankfully the bottom of the inside is finished enough to wear without them. I was hoping for a wider toe box than my boots by a larger margin but comparing the inserts, the Xero’s are 1.5mm wider. For sizing, US 9/EUR 42, these are smaller in length than my boots but they still have plenty of buffer room for your toes to splay. I mainly got these for home use as I usually go barefoot. I decided to get these to prevent cat litter from sticking to my feet(S/O wanted a kitten…). Ground feel without the inserts are good.One week in and I have worn these every night after work. The tread/grip has let me down only once, I came back inside from checking the mail and had wet grass stuck on the bottom of these shoes.One month review, I have noticed that my feet have gotten wider and my toes are more straightened. I have ventured out from just using these as house shoes and are for general errand wear. I have gotten the Pagosa Fireside through Amazon Vine and have instantly fallen in love with them. The Prios will still be in my rotation for everyday errand use but the Pagosa’s will take over during winter weather.Toe splaying as become a more centered focus this past month for me and I’m glad to say that the Prios are roomy enough to accommodate. Unfortunately, through my personal opinion I have yet to see any option for work use from Xero. Should they have something similar to the Boulder Boot Grip by Lems(recent purchase for work wear) would be a plus and I would buy them in an instant! The Denver II is close but no cigar and the Scrambler and Ridgeway are not my style…Upped to 5 stars from 4 for my greater appreciation of these shoes!(As a further note, my previous wear before barefoot style shoes/boots were Columbia and Wolverine.)

A good option for “barefoot” walking.
I usually buy my barefoot type shoes direct from the manufacturer. However this model was presented to me by Amazon at a discount price. I think that the Prio model is one of the best for walking my dogs on “dry” trails.

Las compramos para mi marido que juega al pádel, y la verdad que aunque dicen que la suela no es muy buen, lleva dos partidos y tiene agarre de suela con el suelo, son cómodas, barefood y respetuosas con el libre movimiento de los pies. Así que buena compra y recomendable 100%

本日初めて履いて30分ほど歩いてきました。つま先の締め付けがないほど、幅が広くて気持ちがいいと感じる履き心地でした。履き慣れないうちは、足の裏が痛いと感じることはあると思います。裸足の感覚と考えると一般的な靴を履いていたところからの履き替えであれば普通のことだなと思います。長く履いてみて、どのように歩き方が変わるかが楽しみです。個人的にはリピートしていきたい靴でした。

I now have 2 pairs of Xero Prio shoes which I use for casual wear, long walks, exercise and daily use.I’m not a runner but I put them through a decent amount of wear and they have held up well.I’ve had my first pair for over a year now and they still look great with no sign of damage and very little wear. The glue has held up very well with no peeling.I have flat wide feet and need room in the mid sole as well as the toe box and the Prio’s provide that for me.I have been wearing barefoot shoes for about 2 years now and the Xero Prio’s are my favorite daily comfort shoe.I also have some Vivo Barefoot shoes which I like but not as much as my Xero Prio’s.I highly recommend the Xero Prio shoe for anyone transitioning into barefoot shoes or anyone else who wants a great comfortable zero drop, wide toe box, wide mid sole reliable shoe.If you are transitioning into barefoot shoes from regular shoes, watch some youtube videos on transitioning safely and slowly to avoid injuries.Pics provided.
