Really nice but not for slender ankles
Great add on for workouts. Only wish they fit my slender ankles closer.

Velcro closure is more comfortable than standard metal loops
I’ve gone through a lot of ankle and wrist. Weights and most of them are constructed the same way other than their closures. The most common form has a metal loop that the Velcro strap goes through and then pulls back around. These almost always quickly wear out. The straps friction with the metal ring Combined with the weight of the product tear it apart within a month if you wear it very often. This particular brand has straight Velcro of Velcro closure without that intermediate loop. They’re easier to put on by far and I have every reason to believe they will hold up far better. They are also more comfortable because of that lack of a pinch point.

Nice & comfy but run really BIG! They barely hold on ankle
These are super comfy and easy to put on but they are quite large. I don’t have skinny ankles/legs and have a bit of extra fluff on me right now as well and these are huge around my ankles. If I made these as tight as I would like there’s no Velcro to hold them on. Even with fastening them so the Velcro can stick on a larger part of its available space one fell off while I was just walking around my house. These could be awesome if the adjustable Velcro piece had more area to adjust. The way these are currently made I don’t see how anyone could do any sort of workout with these that involves moving much :/

Velco wears out over time.
I’ve bought these about 3 times. After 6-9 months the velco wears out and they don’t stay on. For reference: 5’8” female 140 lbs with medium ankles. I use them several times a week for home exercises (squats, lunges, leg lifts) but nothing vigorous or constant like walking or jumping. Despite the lousy velcro, I keep buying them because when the velco works they are comfortable. The other options for 5lb ankle weights are solid weights in bags ( which dig into my ankles and ankle weight with sand for the weight and the sand will eventually leak and get on floor / carpet. This would be the perfect ankle weights if they did away with the weak velco and had a buckle or different fastener but I guess they are getting more money out of me if they keep breaking and I keep buying. I don’t see how these would hold up for walking even when they are new. I did try the amazon brand ankle weights and they were uncomfortable in the 5 lb. Also these do not leak sand at all.

Good enough
I use the 5 pound (the 10 pound set) Gaiam Ankle Weights every day on a 30 minute walk. They work fine. I have very small ankles and they are bulky – I wish there was a way to make them tighter but I do like that they have velcro and not uncomfortable metal pieces that pinch like other brands. They fit loose if you have petite or small ankles. Be careful what they touch up against because the color bleeds out, it’s either the fabric when it gets wet or the sand is black and stains what it touches once it leaks. I purchased these twice for comfort and price, they last 6 months before getting a small hole and needing to be replaced and both sets leaked/stained my shoes -Became messy and even got on my hands when I put them on. The more expensive brands did the same. Overall these are okay. If I could find a brand that doesn’t leak that would be ideal but these work for a little while. I chose to purchase them as used through Amazon so they cost less and I didn’t devote a lot of money. I’m glad I have them to boost my walks – they have improved my strength.

Great purchase!
I love my new 5 lb pair of leg weights. I received it just in time for my leg workout today. I really love these. They fasten securely with the wide Velcro closure.I’ve bought quite a few of other leg weights that all had a buckle to fasten the strap in place. Unfortunately, tension is created at this weak point during moderate or rigorous exercise that eventually falls apart.- a flawed design. My new leg weights are a great addition to my at home fitness routine. I ‘m really enjoying it, helping to make my legs stronger and I don’t have to worry about it falling off my ankles. It feels rock solid that I see would last a very long time.

Affordable Weighted Vest Alternative
My doctor started me on a 30 minute a day walking program to increase my bone and muscle strength. She recommended I purchase a walking vest, or weighted vest, weighing 20 lbs. to increase the cardio effect as well.First off, that is a bunch of weight! Still, throughout my cancer journey I’ve lost more than double that amount. So I was thinking this would be no big deal. I used to carry all that extra before – surely I could do it again. Then I saw the cost of a weighted vest that carries 20 lbs, and that was beyond what I was able to afford. Trying to be resourceful, I found a hydration vest for under $20. We have several weights from grandfather clocks that no longer work – I figured to put those in the vest. I was feeling pretty pleased with the whole thing. But my 1st 30 minute walk with all that weight completely debilitated my left shoulder for days afterwards. It was decidedly unpleasant. (Holy cow, I used to carry all this every day???) So back I came to Amazon.I found two sets of these 10 lb per pair of leg weights *used,* so I bought them. I am able to put these on a belt around my waist now, and follow the 30-minute-per-day routine my doctor recommends. It’s so much more comfortable on my joints. And, without the weight in the vest, I might just get a water bladder for it so I can stay hydrated while I’m out walking! Or, as my cat would say… I *meant* to do that! 🐱

Lost all velcro hold within 9 months
I managed with these for about 9 months. As regular sized woman (I wear a size 8 pants) these were always a little too large around my ankles, but it was too late to return so I continued to use. I have used them while jumping on my rebounder regularly and the velcro started giving out. I cannot get them to stay velcroed for more than a minute or two anymore. In fact, they went out in this week’s garbage. I am going to try order a very different type with longer area to velcro so they can be cinched tighter and have more velcro grip.

Não fixa bem na perna e fica caindo e soltando o velcro. Pelo valor, achei que fosse com uma qualidade melhor.

Easy to use, Velcro much easier to use than straps and buckles. These are great for post surgical rehabilitation and are highly recommended.
